Rain displaces 1,218, 187 houses destroyed‏ at Salaga

1,218 residents of Salaga in the East Gonja district of the Northern region have been rendered homeless following a wild rainstorm that hit the area Monday evening.
The rainstorm which lasted for close to two hours ripped off roofs of 187 houses causing destruction to property worth thousands of Ghana cedis.
"It starter around 4pm. It came with storm and wiped out houses
Officials of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) are yet to receive relief items from their headquarters in Accra, leaving residents stranded and helpless.
Some of the affected residents are currently living with friends and relatives in nearby homes
