Primary school turned into brothel; pupils appeal for help

Pupils of Awutu Adawukwa Catholic Anglican Government Basic School in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region are calling on to government to fence their school compound to save them from the activities of immoral persons in the community.

Due to the lack of a fence wall, the pupils claim residents have turned their school into a brothel engaging in immoral acts.

According to them, used condoms are regularly found in their classrooms and even more horrifying, they sometimes see aborted babies dumped in their classrooms.

“They freely come there and mess up the place because we don’t have doors and so we are calling on government to intervene” the pupils said.

The situation, the pupils told Adom News in an interview, is affecting teaching and learning in the school.

One pupil who spoke to Adom News said, they are forced to sit outside and learn because their classrooms are always full of used condoms and blood clots which make teaching and learning very difficult.

“Our classrooms have been turned to a hotel because residents come there to do all sort of things that do not augur well for us."

The pupils said they are forced to stay home just to avoid seeing the condoms and blood clots in the classroom.

An 18-year-old girl has been apprehended by the police for allegedly burying her three months old baby boy alive.
The suspect who name was only given as Maa Afia committed the gruesome murder at Gomoa Postin in the Central region.
According to Adom News’ Kofi Agyei who followed the story, the young girl who sells pineapple with her aunty on Wednesday afternoon told her she was going to bath.
But hours after, her aunty decided to check up on her at home only to discover her niece and the baby have disappeared.
A former assembly man in the area, Philip Asante Prempeh who was part of the rescue mission noted that, the girl went to her grandmother in Akyem Oda in the Eastern region and told her the baby boy had died two months ago.
“Her grandmother was surprised at the new so she called her aunty in Postin who told her to detain Maa Afia so the police can arrest her” he added.
Mr. Asante Prempeh indicated that the police arrested the girl and led them to where he had buried the baby.
He stated that the police went to the place and exhumed the decomposing 3 months old baby.
“The girl did not show remorse for her action, she was just standing there while the police exhumed the baby who had been eaten by ants” he fumed.
The former assembly man for the area said the girl has pleaded guilty to the offense and is still in custody at the Dominase police station.
Meanwhile, the deceased has been deposited at the Winneba hospital morgue pending autopsy
