An Accra High Court has discharged Daniel Asiedu and Vincent Bossu in the case of the murder of the former Member of Parliament, J.B. Danquah.

The two accused persons have been on trial for the murder .
This follows a submission of nolle prosequi on Tuesday May 30 by the Attorney General for the case to be discontinued.
On 9 February 2016, some unknown assailants murdered the late MP in his room at his Shiashie residence.
Daniel Asiedu and Vincent Bossu were facing murder charges at the court but had pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Gloria Akuffo, has stated that the discontinuation of the case against the prime suspect at the centre of the murder of the Abukwa North MP, JB Danquah, is strategic to allow for a more comprehensive investigation to be conducted.

SOLDIER LYNCHED TO DEATH ON SUSPICION OF BEING AN ARMED ROBBER

SOLDIER LYNCHED TO DEATH ON SUSPICION OF BEING AN ARMED ROBBER

A soldier in Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region has been lynched to death by a mob in the area on suspicion of being an armed robber.
According to reports, the soldier was jogging Monday dawn and not in uniform, but had a pistol on him.
Having stopped to ask some women for directions, they saw the pistol and assumed he was an armed robber, due to a recent spate of robberies in the area – and ran to inform an assembly man who organised a mob.
Despite all pleas of the soldier that he wasn’t a robber but a military officer, he was beaten to death anyway by the mob.

The soldier, Capt Maxwell Mahama, was on detachment to the area from Burma Camp in Accra.
Police in the area have confirmed the case and are investigating, although reports indicate some youth of the town have fled for fear of revenge from other soldiers.
