Farmer butchered to death by crop thief

A 52-year old farmer, Kwame Amissah has been butchered to death by a suspected thief in Assin Kushea in the Assin North Municipality in the Central Region.
The suspected thief, Yaw Nkansah, 35, was said to have butchered the farmer to death after the later farmer caught him stealing from his farm.
"Agya Kwame Amissah always complained that someone had been stealing from his farm so he decided to go into hiding in his farm so he could arrest the culprits...it was in the process that he caught Yaw Nkansah...," an Assemblyman of Kushea said.
According to the Assemblyman, Yaw Nkansah decided to struggle with the farmer and overpowered him. He then landed several machete wounds on the farmer.
The farmer lost his life while he was being conveyed from the farm to the hospital.
Yaw Nkansah was said to have bolted from the town after the incident causing the youth of the town to go in search of him.
