MORE
LIVES LIKELY TO BE LOST IN YEJI
It is likely more lives
may be lost on the Yeji Lake as some boat owners claim they cannot afford live
jackets for their passengers.
The lack of live
jackets and overloading are some of the safety precautions that were overlooked
which killed several people last Sunday.
As a result, Head of
Yeji NADMO, Justice Doula instructed that boat owners will not be allowed to
operate if they don’t adhere to safety measures including having live jackets.
But the boat owners
claim unless the assemblies provide them with live jackets they will continue
to operate in the same way which claimed the lives of 15 people including
children.
